Teachers

Soochan Lee & Young Kang  (South Korea)

Soochan Lee and Young Kang bring a joyful, grounded approach to Lindy Hop that is deeply rooted in musicality, connection, and swing. Known for their clarity, generosity, and infectious energy on the dance floor, they create classes that are both technically satisfying and genuinely fun.

Their teaching focuses on strong fundamentals, relaxed movement, and dancing with the music — helping dancers feel more confident, expressive, and connected to their partner. Whether working with beginners or experienced dancers, Soochan and Young have a gift for making complex ideas accessible and meaningful.

We’re excited to welcome them to Jumptown Jam 2026, where their warmth, insight, and love of Lindy Hop will be a highlight of the weekend.

Jessie Gordon (Perth) & Joel Kohn (Melbourne)

Jessie Gordon and Joel Kohn bring together deep musicality, joyful movement, and a shared love of Lindy Hop that shines through both their dancing and their teaching. Having taught together previously, they bring an easy rapport to the classroom — blending clarity, warmth, and a strong connection to the music.

Their classes focus on dancing that feels good and swings hard, with an emphasis on rhythm, partnership, and making choices that serve the music. Jessie’s background as a jazz vocalist and bandleader pairs seamlessly with Joel’s thoughtful, grounded approach to movement, creating classes that are musical, engaging, and deeply connected to the roots of the dance.

We’re excited to welcome Jessie and Joel teaching together at Jumptown Jam 2026, where their shared energy, insight, and love of Lindy Hop will be a highlight of the weekend.
