Levels

Intermediate: This level is for Intermediate dancers. Our expert teachers will make sure that there is a learning opportunity for everyone. As a minimum, you can do a swing out, eight count, six count rhythm’s, starting to explore more complex footwork and rhythms and have been dancing for one to two years or more and social dance regularly.

Advanced: This level is for Advanced dancers who are ready for some challenging content – those who teach, perform, practice in a troupe, compete or have danced for many years. You are comfortable with music of all tempos, and with musicality, expression and rhythms.

Challenge Class: This is an open level class which means it’s open to all dancers of Intermediate, Intermediate Advanced, Advanced and beyond whom are participating in the workshops.  Note, this class is not included in your Jam pass and is sold as an individual seperate ticket. Designed to challenge your dancing no matter where you are in your journey. The teachers are skilled at ensuring there is something for everyone and try something a bit out of the box.

To get the most out of a workshop weekend like this, it is important you stay true to yourself and your abilities, so that everyone can have a fair and equal learning experience. Be fair to the other students in your class, and focus on your own dancing development. Ask your local teacher or email us if you are unsure about your ability to do the Open level Challenge classes.

We will be running an audition for the advanced level on Saturday morning — for everyone who has booked for advanced and anyone booked for intermediate who thinks they may be advanced. (Intermediates who are happy in intermediate level, no need to audition.)

Auditions make sure everyone gets the most out of the workshops. You’ll be assessed by the teachers and if you’re asked to change levels it will be because the teachers feel it will best benefit your dancing. Please respect their decision!
