Jam Music

Gordon Webster

We are thrilled to have Gordon Webster joining us for Jumptown Jam 2024!

A huge deal in the Lindy Hop world (think the Taylor Swift of swing), Gordon Webster is an absolute pro at playing music for social dancing. Many of our favourite Jam memories feature him — he’s kept dancers captivated on the floor for hours and hours at some of the greatest parties around the world, and has been responsible for making more than a few people swungover after the event. He always knows how to bring the energy, get the room fired up, and, most of all, make you want to swing.

We first brought out Gordon (in conjunction with Swing Patrol Melbourne) in 2011, followed by 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2014 we introduced him to Hetty Kate, and they went on to make an incredible album together after the event. 2024 is the first time Gordon is back in Canberra in 10 years and we are very excited about it! If you’ve been around a while you’ll know what we mean, and if you’re newer you’re in for an absolute treat. If you would like to hear a taste of what you will experience in May, check out Gordon here.

DJ Adam

Adam is a Canberra local with a love for swing era jazz music. He believes that seriously good music makes seriously good dancing. He enjoys catchy riffs and a solid rhythm section, and has been known for even dabbling into soul, funk and all-round party bangers. Adam has grown a deeper appreciation for the roots of the music through his vinyl record collection. You can find him Djing his favourites which include Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Illinois Jacquet.

DJ Chris

All the way from Perth, Chris has been a passionate swing DJ since 2019. With a penchant for traditional big and small band swing, Chris’s DJ style is all about playing songs that would get *him* onto the dancefloor.

When not dancing or DJing around the Perth swing scene, Chris enjoys teaching, organising events, and collecting vinyl.
